This project covers two tightly connected tasks: 1. Archival retrieval My great-grandfather owned several properties now lying inside Albania’s borders. The original ownership records (title deeds – tapu), all written in Ottoman Turkish, are held in the Central Archives of Istanbul. I need you to pinpoint every document that names him, lists the land boundaries, or traces the chain of ownership. Because the handwriting and legal terminology are Ottoman era, you must be comfortable reading original script and navigating the archive’s cataloguing system. 2. Certified Albanian translation Once the full set of deeds is located and digitally scanned at high resolution, each page has to be translated into Albanian by a certified translator. The translation must carry both the translator’s certification and a public-notary stamp so it is immediately admissible in Albanian legal proceedings. Deliverables (all digital PDFs + one hard-copy set sent by courier): • Archival research report summarising search path, fonds, and call numbers consulted • High-resolution scans of every original Ottoman document located • Albanian translations, each page bearing the translator’s seal and notary stamp • Notarial certificate referencing the originals and the translations Acceptance criteria: every deed must clearly identify the owner’s name and property description; translations must match the originals line-for-line; notarial authentication must be verifiable in Albania. If you already hold an archive researcher pass for the Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi and collaborate with a licensed Albanian translator—not merely Turkish<>Albanian bilingual—please indicate this in your bid.
