Project Description
We are building a mortgage (FinTech) platform and need an experienced database architect to review and redesign our backend structure.
The system has multiple modules (borrowers, applications, products, lenders, documents, pipeline, etc.) but currently suffers from:
duplicated data
inconsistent relationships
disconnected modules
lack of a clear source of truth
Scope (Fixed):
You will:
audit the existing database structure
identify duplication and structural issues
design a clean, normalized database schema
define source-of-truth ownership for core entities
create an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram)
design module relationships and system flow
provide a data migration strategy (including product data expansion)
provide a developer implementation guide
Deliverables:
System audit report
New database schema
ERD diagram
Module relationship map
Migration plan
Performance/indexing recommendations
Important:
This is an architecture/design role only
No frontend work
No feature implementation
No production access provided
Ideal Candidate:
Strong experience in database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
Experience cleaning and redesigning existing systems
Experience with SaaS / FinTech platforms is a plus
Able to deliver clear, developer-ready documentation
