Project Description
I am preparing a full submission to the FRA’s Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program (CRISI) and need a seasoned grant writer who already understands this program’s structure, language, and scoring criteria. I have gathered some preliminary data on projected capacity gains, safety benefits, and economic impact, but the information has not yet been woven into a persuasive story or a defensible cost profile.
Your primary focus will be two sections: the Project Narrative and the Budget Details. I will supply engineering sketches, ridership forecasts, and prior‐year operating statistics; you will turn that material into a clear narrative that aligns with CRISI priorities, incorporates required performance metrics, and demonstrates a strong benefit-cost ratio. On the budget side, I need a granular breakdown of capital costs, contingency assumptions, non-Federal match certification wording, and a milestone-based spending timeline that pairs seamlessly with the narrative.
Deliverables
• CRISI-formatted Project Narrative (Word + PDF)
• Fully detailed Budget Workbook with justification text (Excel + PDF)
Acceptance criteria
– Narrative follows FRA outline and does not exceed page limits
– Benefit-cost ratio calculations are transparent and replicable
– Budget totals match narrative figures line-by-line
Fluency with FRA guidance, FAST Act compliance, and tools such as Benefit-Cost Analysis spreadsheet templates will be essential. If you have successfully secured CRISI, TIGER/BUILD, or RAISE grants before, please highlight that experience when you respond, along with a brief outline of your proposed timeline to hit the upcoming deadline.
