Software Developer Needed to Build PDF Drawing Takeoff Tool for the exterior building cladding Projects. Job Description I am looking to develop a software tool that can generate material takeoffs directly from architectural PDF drawings. The program should allow the user to upload architectural drawings (PDF) and automatically or semi-automatically extract quantities such as: Wall areas (square feet) Linear feet of trims Openings (windows and doors) Export results to Excel The tool should include a PDF viewer where the user can set the drawing scale and verify the takeoff results. Required Features Upload architectural PDF drawings Ability to set drawing scale Detect or trace wall areas Identify windows and doors Calculate square footage and linear footage Export takeoff results to Excel Simple user interface Required Skills We are looking for someone experienced with: PDF drawing processing Computer vision / image recognition Python or C++ development Libraries such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch CAD / drawing related workflows Experience with construction estimating software is a big plus
