I am starting a concrete construction company called Boanergio Concrete. We are based in the New Jersey / New York area and will focus on residential and light commercial concrete work. I am looking for an experienced concrete construction estimator who can help me figure out how much I should be charging customers per job. I need pricing that is competitive enough to win jobs, but also profitable. I do not want to be the cheapest company, and I do not want to overprice myself out of the market. The goal is to build a clear, repeatable pricing system that helps me estimate jobs confidently and professionally. Type of Work We Plan to Do We plan to focus on concrete jobs such as: Concrete driveways Concrete slabs Garage slabs Shed slabs Patios Walkways Sidewalks Concrete pads Small residential flatwork Light commercial concrete work Concrete demo and replacement Base prep, gravel, sand, forms, rebar, wire mesh, pouring, finishing, saw cuts, and cleanup We may also add other concrete services in the future, but right now the main focus is driveways, slabs, patios, walkways, and small-to-medium flatwork jobs. What I Need Help With I need someone who can help me create accurate pricing for concrete jobs, including: Material cost Concrete cubic yard calculation Waste percentage Gravel base cost Sand cost when needed Rebar or wire mesh cost Forming material cost Labor cost Equipment cost Dump fees Delivery fees Fuel cost Overhead allocation Profit markup Residential versus commercial pricing Minimum job price Price per square foot for common jobs Price per cubic yard for concrete work Crew size needed per job type Final customer price recommendation Main Deliverables I want the estimator to help me create: A pricing guide for Boanergio Concrete A price-per-square-foot range for each service A job costing template A profitable markup structure A residential and commercial pricing difference A minimum charge for small jobs Example estimates for different job sizes A system I can use when visiting customers A list of questions I should ask customers before pricing a job A way to avoid undercharging or overcharging Example Jobs I Want Priced Please be able to help estimate examples like: Small driveway: 400 sq ft, 4 inches thick Medium driveway: 800 sq ft, 4 to 5 inches thick Large driveway: 1,500 sq ft, 5 to 6 inches thick Backyard patio: 300 to 600 sq ft Garage slab: 400 to 800 sq ft Shed pad: 100 to 250 sq ft Sidewalk or walkway: 100 to 500 sq ft Small commercial slab: 1,000 to 3,000 sq ft Each example should include material, labor, equipment, overhead, profit, and final customer price. Ideal Candidate The right person should have experience with: Concrete estimating Residential concrete pricing Commercial concrete pricing Flatwork estimating Driveways, slabs, patios, sidewalks, and walkways NJ/NY construction pricing, if possible Labor and material cost breakdowns Creating estimate templates Helping new construction companies price jobs correctly Experience as a construction estimator, concrete estimator, project manager, contractor, or concrete business owner is preferred.
