I have high-resolution LiDAR/DSM tiles covering several farm and ranch areas and I want each selected zone turned into a clean, non-jagged 3D print file. The final surface must look true to life, with barns, sheds, tree masses, fence lines, creek beds and surrounding hillsides all showing the right scale and proportions. I am looking for a repeatable process, whether this can be built into an AI to be automated for a "good enough" or if each individual model is going to need to be manually corrected. Primary focus These are strictly Farm/Ranch Areas, sometimes only a few acres with outbuildings, sometimes larger tracts that push up into rugged range land. File size and polygon count will therefore vary, so I need a workflow that can scale from “small homestead” to “mountain pasture” without losing detail or choking a slicer. Key features that must be captured • Buildings and structures • Land contours and elevation • Vegetation and trees Preferred output One watertight STL per area, oriented flat on the print bed and already checked for manifold errors. Needs to be efficient for cost effective printing. I will supply initial (raw LAS/LAZ + DSM/DTM). Acceptance criteria • No jagged edges or “spikes” on terrain. • Buildings retain straight walls and crisp roof lines. • Tree canopies look organic, not blocky. • Model passes Netfabb or similar manifold check and slices in Cura/PrusaSlicer without repair. If you already have an efficient LiDAR-to-mesh pipeline or can build one quickly, let’s get this pilot area produced so we can move on to the larger catalogue of ranch properties waiting in queue.
