I’m preparing to take my brick-and-mortar pharmacy online for customers across Italy and need an end-to-end eCommerce setup. I want the shop to be open on the current website of the company (that will need a full restyle).
Core features I must have from day one are:
• a clear medicine search bar that lets visitors find products quickly
• real-time online chat support for pharmacists to answer questions (Pharmacist is the second step). First layer managed by an AI (gemini would be perfect)
• smart cross-selling suggestions shown in the cart and on product pages
• multiple payment methods (major cards, PayPal, SEPA, and any Italy-specific gateways you recommend)
For inventory, I’ll start by updating stock personally through the admin panel, but I want the architecture ready for an eventual switch to automated supplier feeds or an integration with our existing pharmacy software. Please keep this future automation in mind when structuring the database and choosing plugins or APIs.

Key expectations
• Mobile-first, lightning-fast interface in English or Italian (with room for an English layer later).
• Clean, pharmacist-friendly backend where prescriptions, batch numbers, and expiry dates are easy to manage
• GDPR-ready data handling and solid SEO foundations for medicines and health keywords
• Clear hand-over documentation and a brief training session so my staff can handle daily tasks confidently
