Solar Panel Cleaning Robot Prototype Development We are developing an automated rooftop solar panel cleaning mechanism and need an experienced freelancer/team for complete mechanical, electronics, and prototype development. The product is a linear sliding brush/wiper-based cleaner for solar panels. The brush will move left and right across the solar panel surface like a wiper. It should be safe for solar glass, cost-effective, lightweight, and practical for Indian rooftop conditions. Work Required 1. Mechanical Design Design a complete sliding cleaning mechanism for rooftop solar panels. Use a non-rotating linear brush/wiper system. Design should be suitable for small rooftop solar systems. Create a rail/slider mechanism using bearings, guide rails, or cost-effective alternatives. Prefer wire/cable-driven mechanism instead of belt drive, if feasible. Motor preference: 12V/24V car power window slider motor or similar low-cost DC geared motor. Design mounting brackets, carriage, frame, motor holder, pulley/wire drum, tensioning system, and brush holder. Product should be weather-resistant and easy to assemble. 2. Brush/Wiper Design Design and recommend the best brush/wiper for dry solar panel cleaning. Preferred brush concept: Symmetrical Hybrid Brush Design: PBT Bristle → Microfiber Pad → PBT Bristle The freelancer should research and suggest the most cost-effective and safe design. Required brush details: Brush type and material Brush length Brush width Brush height PBT bristle hardness/softness Bristle diameter Bristle density Microfiber GSM/thickness Recommended contact pressure on solar glass Replaceable brush cartridge design Safe design for solar glass and anti-reflective coating 3. Electronics and PCBA Design Design complete electronics for motor control. Support forward, reverse, start, stop, and automatic return. End detection using current sensing, Hall sensor, or another reliable method. Overload protection for motor. Manual push-button control. Optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth control using ESP32 or similar controller. Battery input support: 12V or 24V DC. Design should be low-cost and suitable for mass production. Required electronics deliverables: Circuit schematic PCB layout Gerber files BOM CPL/Pick-and-place file PCBA-ready files Firmware/code for controller Wiring diagram Testing procedure 4. Prototype and Manufacturing Support The freelancer should help make the design practical for prototype fabrication and future production.
