Project Description
Technical Designer Needed — Dog Harness Tech Pack (Review + Revisions)
Hello! I'm looking for an experienced Technical Designer specializing in soft goods and sewn accessories to join a small but focused project.
If you have a background in harnesses, bags, straps, tactical gear, or any load-bearing sewn products — I'd love to connect.
---
ABOUT THE PROJECT
I have an existing Tech Pack for a dog harness that needs professional eyes. The project has two stages:
Stage 1 — Review
Go through my Tech Pack and identify:
• Construction or drawing errors
• Missing or incomplete material specs
• Incorrect or unspecified seam/stitch details
• Hardware specification gaps (load-bearing vs decorative)
• Size grading issues based on dog body measurements
• QC checkpoint gaps
Stage 2 — Revisions
Based on your feedback, correct and redraw the technical flat drawings where needed — production-ready, factory-facing.
---
YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU
- Have real experience creating or reviewing Tech Packs for soft goods that went to an actual sewing factory
- Know your stitch types — Box-X, bartack, double-needle — and can specify them correctly by location
- Understand load-bearing hardware attachment and how to detail reinforcement zones (D-ring, buckle, slider)
- Are familiar with dog anatomy in the context of harness fit — chest girth, back length, axilla clearance
- Work in Adobe Illustrator for technical flat drawings (not just CAD or rendering tools)
- Can produce a drawing a factory can follow without asking questions
---
THIS IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF...
- Your experience is in mechanical engineering, architecture, or industrial CAD only
- Your portfolio is mostly renderings, mood boards, or lifestyle visuals
- You've never worked directly with a sewing manufacturer
- The terms "bartack", "webbing", or "seam allowance" are unfamiliar to you
No judgment — it's simply a different skill set, and I want to respect your time.
If this sounds like your kind of project, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. Looking forward to working with someone who takes production quality as seriously as I do.
