Project Description
I already have the 3-D helmet saved as an .obj and the textures separated. What I need now is a clean pipeline that gets the asset into Grand Theft Auto V, ready for OpenIV. The two critical tasks are:
1. Rigging or binding the helmet to the correct head bone so it moves naturally with the vanilla character skeleton.
2. Exporting the finished asset to .ydd for the geometry and .ytd for the textures, with everything loading error-free in-game.
You are free to work in Blender with the Sollumz plugin—or any toolchain you trust—as long as the end result installs through OpenIV and shows up properly in Los Santos. If you can also include a concise outline of the steps you followed (enough so I can repeat the process on future props), that would be perfect.
Deliverables
• Rigged .blend (or equivalent) file with proper skeleton bindings
• Final .ydd and .ytd files, tested in GTA V
• Brief workflow notes or screen captures of the export settings
Let me know your relevant GTA V modding experience and any past examples of successful .ydd/.ytd exports. I’m ready to start as soon as you are.
