I am reaching out to request professional assistance regarding a data recovery issue I am currently facing.
Unfortunately, I accidentally formatted a hard drive that contained important personal photographs. After attempting to recover the files using common data recovery tools, I was able to restore files that appear to have their original file sizes of approximately 5 to 8 megabytes. However, the recovered image files cannot be opened or displayed by any image viewer or software.
Upon further inspection using a hex editor, I found that while the JPEG file headers appear to be partially intact, the actual image data seems to be missing or corrupted, as the files consist largely of null bytes beyond the header.
I believe this issue requires professional-level data recovery expertise, including the possibility of working directly at the sector level on the original storage medium to recover the raw image data.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know whether you are able to assist with this type of recovery, what your process would involve, and an estimate of the associated costs.
The hard drive in question is still in my possession and has not been written to further since the accidental format, in order to preserve the best possible chance of recovery.
