Project Description
I need a clean, uniform oak wood texture that can be engraved on a rotogravure cylinder for skirting-boards. The image must tile flawlessly every 628 mm, so there can be no knots, streaks, or other distinctive marks that would give the repeat away. Think classic oak—neither rustic nor stylised—just a steady, straight grain that reads as high-quality flooring once printed.
Because the file is headed straight to a rotogravure press, colour consistency and edge-to-edge alignment are critical. Please work in CMYK and keep tonal shifts subtle; a neutral, medium-warm oak is ideal. I am comfortable with layered PSD, flattened CMYK TIFF, or print-ready PDF, provided the native resolution is at least 300 dpi at full size. An extra 5 mm bleed on the long edges will help our cylinder engravers.
Acceptance criteria:
Greyscale is a must, measurements: 132mm x 628mm
• Seamless repeat verified at 628 mm in both directions
• No visible artefacts, banding, or mismatched grain at joins
• Colour profile embedded (ISO Coated or equivalent)
• Final file supplied in agreed format and resolution
If you have previous press-ready wood textures, feel free to share a preview so I can see how you handle grain continuity. I look forward to a texture that lets the skirting boards look naturally elegant without revealing that they’re printed.
