Project Description
I already run a custom POS on a PC for my café, backed by a MySQL database. The goal now is to rebuild that experience as a .NET MAUI application that can run cross-platform while sharing the same data source.
Core scope
• Re-use the existing MySQL schema so staff see the exact products, prices, branches and user accounts they work with today.
• Work fully offline when the connection drops, then sync seamlessly once connectivity returns.
• Replicate the complete checkout flow from the current system—including order creation, modifiers, discounts and payment confirmation.
• Add a “send gift” feature that lets customers transfer prepaid credit or items to another account.
• Provide login and sign-up screens, plus a branch selector shown at launch.
• Match the visual style shown in my video reference and supplied layout files.
Deliverables
1. Full MAUI source code, structured for easy future maintenance.
2. Tested builds that run against my live database without breaking existing desktop POS usage.
3. Offline/online sync module with clear documentation.
4. Short screencast demonstrating each flow (login, branch pick, order, checkout, gift send).
5. Deployment guide so my team can publish new versions quickly.
Acceptance criteria
• All listed flows behave exactly as in the current POS while offline and online.
• No data loss or corruption after sync.
• Build completes with no critical warnings using the latest stable .NET MAUI SDK.
• UI matches the provided mock-ups to within >90 % fidelity.
