Project Description
I am looking for an experienced Project Controls / Cost Control specialist to develop a professional, contractor-level cost control system in Excel for a newly awarded construction project, and to provide practical coaching on how to use it.
This is not a simple spreadsheet task — I need a comprehensive, real-world cost control setup similar to what major contractors use, including dashboards, reporting formats, and control mechanisms that can be implemented immediately on a live project.
Scope of Work:
Develop and explain a complete Excel-based cost control package including, but not limited to:
1. Cost Control Registers & Formats
Budget control register (original budget, approved budget, current budget)
Detailed BOQ/item-wise cost tracking
Commitment register (POs, subcontracts, pending commitments)
Cost report with budget vs actual vs forecast
Revenue vs cost tracking
Cost to Complete (CTC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
Cost variance analysis
Productivity and resource cost tracking
Material consumption monitoring
Procurement cost control logs
Change order / variation control register
2. Professional Dashboard (Excel-Based)
Interactive dashboard with:
Planned vs Actual Cost
Cost Performance Indicators (CPI, SPI if applicable)
Cost burn rate curves / S-curves
Cash flow forecast
Margin erosion tracking
Budget overrun alerts
Procurement commitments exposure
Resource utilization KPIs
Executive summary dashboard for management
Preferably with:
Pivot-based automation
Slicers / filters
Drill-down capability
Automated charts and reporting logic
