I need an orthodontist to serve as an expert witness in a medical malpractice case related to standard of care. The case is currently in the pre-trial investigation phase. Key requirements: - Provide expert testimony on standard of care in orthodontics - Review case materials and prepare a detailed report - Possibly testify in court Ideal skills and experience: - Board-certified orthodontist - Experience in legal cases, particularly as an expert witness - Strong analytical and communication skills Please include relevant experience in your bids. Some information about the issue. The dates of the appointments (Dentist documents seem to have no records after the 22 Jan 2026): * 22 Jan 2026 - First session - date when Invisalign was fitted for the first time. My top teeth in multiple places were filed. I had said that I didn't want to have my top teeth filed at all, because I liked my smile, however, the dentist said that a tiny bit (a millimeter, in his own words) was required, to which I agreed. So, I agreed to a millimeter of shaving of my top teeth. I am certain that in total there was more than that, however, I am waiting for records from the dentist (assuming they will provide me with the correct records) and also requested for my records from the Align Technology, Inc, in case the dentist does not give me what I had asked. * 19 Feb 2026 - checking in - a visit to see if everything was going fine - nothing done during this session. * 12 Mar 2026 - I believed it was another checking in visit. The dentist said "hi" to me and asked how I was, to which I said I was ok. That was all the conversation that happened before he asked me to sit in the dental chair, open my mouth and then he started filing my top teeth. I was in shock, however, I was in a lying down position with my mouth open, so I didn't know what to do. The dentist kept filing and filing and said to me "don't worry, I am using a very fine filing tape, so it looks like I am filing a lot, but I am only filing a super tiny bit". He had not explained that he was going to file any of my teeth on that day, he never asked me for my consent. When he finished filing, he put on a new set of aligners and let me go. He didn't show me what he had done. I was in shock, I didn't know what had just happened. I went home and when I saw how much had been filed, I cried. I thought, now I had no choice but to let the aligners close the gap, so I carried on wearing the aligners. The gap on the 12th March was made only on one side - asymmetrically - and I can feel how my bite has changed and teeth started catching each other, particularly on that side. I detest that my teeth were made thinner against my will. Also, I believe the consent was not asked intentionally, because the dentist knew that the answer would have been a "no". On 25th October 2025, the same dentist did an implant and the implant is not well positioned (I even went to a different implant specialist to get a second opinion to see whether the implant needed a replacement; luckily, although it's not great, the implant specialist said that it doesn't need to be redone, it can be worked around it) - it's not centered well, it's pointing towards my tongue too much. I believe the dentist was trying to make my teeth smaller, i.e. to shrink my mouth to fit the implant. I never agreed to this and this is not what I paid for. * 9 Apr 2026 - checking in - nothing was done in that session. I said to the dentist that I had freaked out with what he had done in the previous session and I told him that he must tell me if he wants to do anything else with my teeth and he must ask for my permission first. * 30 Apr 2026 - last aligner had just been finished and I was back for another appointment. I thought this was close to the end - perhaps one or two more aligners and that's it. There were no aligners made anymore, thus, new aligners had to be requested. He took extensive photographs of my profile and front of the face and my teeth from all directions. He looked at my bottom teeth and said something that they still need more work. Then he said that he was going to think about what needed to be done and in 3 or so weeks I will have another set of 8-10 aligners (that's 8-10 weeks). He never thought that before ordering a new set of aligners he needed to consult with me first and have my approval for the work he was going to do. This is when I realised that things were going to get worse and the issues weren't going to get fixed, but likely get even worse, so I sent and email to Zental telling that I didn't approve of the shaving of my teeth and I do not allow even the smallest of the tiniest bit of shaving anymore. Then I realised that I cannot go back to that dentist, because I completely lost trust and I was extremely scared to make things go from bad to very bad. I contacted his manager and told her that he shaved my teeth against my will. I requested my dental records, including exactly how much shaving was performed during each session. I have not received any documents yet. The manager arranged an appointment with a different dentist to see what my concerns were. I said I was happy to attend the appointment, but I said I didn't want to have any treatment with Nitin (that's the dentist who did my implant and Invisalign) anymore. The manager said that she hears me. I said I didn't want to have a treatment with Nitin anymore, but she gave me no reassurance that she was not going to send me back to Nitin again. This is when I thought I cannot try to reason this out and I need to officially get legal help. Hope this gives you some understanding of the issue.
