PRISM SMART GUITAR – CAD DESIGN + INTERNAL LAYOUT + BOM DEVELOPMENT
Project Overview:
I am developing a futuristic smart electric guitar prototype called the PRISM Smart Guitar. The product combines:
- Electric guitar functionality
- Addressable RGB LED systems
- Internal speakers
- Bluetooth microphone integration
- Touchscreen interface
- Embedded electronics
- App connectivity
- CNC/resin industrial design
This project is currently in the concept and visualization stage and I am looking for an experienced CAD/mechanical product designer to help create the first engineering-ready digital prototype and internal architecture.
The goal is NOT mass-production-ready engineering yet.
The goal is:
- a realistic MVP prototype design
- manufacturable internal layout
- production concept planning
- and a full BOM for prototype development.
The design should use as many off-the-shelf components as possible to reduce cost and complexity.
Scope of Work:
The selected freelancer/team will help create:
- Full 3D CAD model of the guitar
- Internal electronics layout planning
- Speaker placement and chambers
- Battery placement
- Raspberry Pi / embedded controller placement
- LED routing concepts
- Touchscreen mounting concepts
- Cooling/airflow planning
- Cable routing concepts
- Removable access panel concepts
- Structural support planning around guitar tension zones
- CNC/resin manufacturing concepts
- Prototype-ready assembly planning
- Exploded views and internal visualizations
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
The design aesthetic is futuristic/cyberpunk/high-end premium technology with:
- CNC cutaway sections
- translucent diffusion areas
- programmable LED systems
- visible internal architecture
- premium industrial design styling
Important Technical Direction:
The prototype will likely use:
- Existing electric guitar core structure
- Raspberry Pi 5
- Addressable RGB LEDs (WS2812B / SK6812 or similar)
- Small touchscreen display
- Internal speaker system
- USB-C rechargeable battery system
- Bluetooth microphone integration
- Dual 1/4” TRS outputs
- Off-the-shelf audio/electronic components wherever possible
