Project Description
I have an aftermarket car seat that must be digitally captured, resized, reshaped and given a fresh set of mounting points so it drops straight onto a bracket I have already modelled. Your starting point will be a physical seat; I need the final data delivered as a clean, watertight STL that lines up perfectly with my existing bracket file.
Here’s what I can provide:
• The bracket CAD that the seat must bolt to.
• A rough sketch and verbal notes on where the geometry needs to grow, shrink or contour differently.
What you will handle:
• Accurate 3D scanning of the seat (any scanner workflow is fine as long as we end up in STL).
• Digital edits for size adjustment, subtle shape refinement and a brand-new mounting pattern that corresponds to the bracket.
• Guidance on the exact dimensions while we iterate—I only have approximate numbers, so I’ll rely on your automotive fit-up experience to nail the clearances.
Acceptance criteria
• Final STL aligns to the bracket model within ±0.5 mm at all bolt holes.
• No self-intersections, non-manifold edges or mesh noise.
• File ready for FEA and CNC foam cutting without further cleanup.
A background in vehicle interiors or aftermarket seat fabrication will speed things along, but above all I need precision, tight tolerances and clear communication on each revision milestone.
