Project Description
I need a working software application that carries out statistical analysis on research datasets for my final-year project. The focus is purely on stats—no dashboards, mapping, or fancy visualisations—so everything you build should centre on clean numerical insight.
Core functions I must demonstrate:
• Upload or paste a CSV/Excel file.
• Generate descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation).
• Run common inferential tests—t-test, chi-square, ANOVA, basic linear regression—selectable through a simple menu or GUI.
• Export the results as a neatly formatted PDF or Word report so I can attach it to my submission.
I’m flexible on the tech stack: Python (pandas, scipy), Java (Apache Commons-Math), or any language you’re comfortable with, as long as the setup steps are minimal and well-documented. Include the full, commented source code, a short README, and a quick video or screenshots showing the app in use; that will act as proof it meets my college rubric.
Acceptance criteria
1. Application installs and runs on Windows without extra licensing costs.
2. All listed statistical tests work on the sample dataset I’ll provide.
3. Generated report clearly lists methods, test statistics, p-values, and a concise interpretation section.
4. Code quality is good enough that my professor can skim it and understand the workflow.
