React Native Social Chat App

I’m building a personal-use mobile application that blends real-time chat with the familiar social-network feel. The interface will be written in React Native and powered by a Nest.js API, with Redis handling sockets/queues and PostgreSQL storing all persistent data. What I already have in mind: • Real-time messaging with online/offline presence handled through Redis pub/sub • Photo & video sharing directly inside conversations and on profiles • A friendship / follow model to connect users Additional engagement layers I’d like to see: • Likes and comments for posts and media • Stories or status updates that expire after a set period • User-created groups or communities with their own feeds Deliverables 1. Source code for mobile (React Native) and server (Nest.js) projects, cleanly structured and ready for local deployment. 2. Database schema (PostgreSQL) and any Redis configuration scripts. 3. README with setup instructions and a short walkthrough of the real-time pipeline. 4. A brief demo video or TestFlight / APK build that lets me run through all features above. Everything should be modular enough for me to extend later, and I’m open to best-practice suggestions on authentication, push notifications, or CI/CD.
