Project Description
I need a complete design package for a manufacturing-grade machine that will automate the brushing and shearing stages of our carpet assembly line. The unit must integrate smoothly into existing conveyor-based workflows, handle continuous carpet rolls, and deliver consistent surface finish without interrupting throughput.
Scope
• Mechanical concept development that details the brushing and shearing stations, drive system, guards, and service access points.
• 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings (preferred platforms: SolidWorks or Inventor) ready for shop floor use.
• Motor, gearbox, and cutter selection with a concise bill of materials citing readily available components.
• Simple PLC or motion-controller layout showing how speed and pressure are regulated to match line speed.
• Safety and maintenance considerations aligned with common industrial standards (CE or equivalent).
Acceptance criteria
1. Design demonstrates continuous, vibration-free operation at 15 m/min carpet feed.
2. Brushing torque and shear height are adjustable from the HMI or manual dials.
3. All wear parts can be swapped in under 15 minutes using standard tools.
4. Delivered files include native CAD, STEP, PDF prints, and a short design rationale.
