3D Instruction Render Designer Needed for Cardboard Toy Kits
We are looking for a talented 3D artist/designer to create high-quality step-by-step assembly renders for our Build Your Own range of cardboard toy kits.
Our current instructions use photography-based steps, but we are now transitioning to fully 3D-rendered instructions so that artwork can be updated more efficiently across multiple licensed versions of the same products.
An example of our current instruction style is attached for reference.
What We Need
You will:
* Convert our existing photo-based assembly instructions into clean, easy-to-follow 3D renders
* Create renders for both existing and new products
* Produce individual step-by-step render assets for use within our final Adobe InDesign instruction layouts
* Work from photo step references and guidance supplied by our in-house team
We are not looking for full instruction layout/design work. We only require the rendered step visuals.
Important Requirements
Because these are construction kits, it is important that you:
* Have a good understanding of assembly processes and how components fit together
* Can interpret build sequences accurately
* Can create clear, visually intuitive instructional renders
* Pay close attention to orientation, movement, and assembly detail
The quality and clarity of the instructions are extremely important, as they are used by both children and adults.
Workflow
We will provide:
* Existing instruction PDFs
* Photo-based step-by-step references
* Product artwork and dielines/assets where required
* Feedback and approval guidance
You will provide:
* High-quality rendered instruction steps
* Editable source files
* Consistent visual styling across products
The first project will involve a structured approval process to ensure the style and quality meet our standards before moving onto additional products.
Ideal Skills
* Strong 3D modelling/rendering experience
* Experience creating technical or instructional visuals
* Ability to simplify complex assembly steps visually
* Good communication and reliability
* Experience with packaging, toys, papercraft, or product assembly instructions is a bonus
Ongoing Opportunity
This is not a one-off project. We are looking for someone we can build a long-term working relationship with as we continue expanding the Build Your Own range and releasing licensed versions of our kits.
Remote working is absolutely fine.
