I need a small Android app that can recognise an external webcam as soon as it is plugged in, show a live preview and let me do two things on-screen: start/stop a video recording or tap once to take a still photo. Standard-definition quality is fine for both functions, and everything should be saved locally on the phone/tablet (internal memory or SD card—whichever is easier to implement).
A simple, clean UI with two buttons is all I’m after. No user accounts, no cloud sync, no fancy filters—just reliable capture straight from the webcam using Android Studio, the Camera2/UVC libraries, or any approach you prefer that keeps the APK lightweight and stable.
