We are looking for a dedicated partner, not a project manager from an agency.
Overall Purpose:
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Technical Webmaster to take ownership of the backend health and performance of an established Australian e-commerce site. Our goal is to move away from "lazy" automated configurations toward a high-quality, manually optimized infrastructure. You will be responsible for the site's "heartbeat"—ensuring stability, security, and technical accuracy.
Phase 1: The Technical Audit & Performance Test (Fixed Price)
The project starts with a 10-hour comprehensive technical audit.
Please bid a fixed amount for this 10-hour Phase 1 task. This phase is designed to assess your ability to identify "Technical Debt" and solve urgent ranking issues:
The Mobile Performance Crisis: We currently have 165 URLs failing Core Web Vitals on Mobile, while Desktop is perfect. You must identify the specific technical bottlenecks (LCP/CLS) causing this.
Infrastructure & Ownership Audit: Verify Google Search Console and Tag Manager (GTM) to ensure the business owner has permanent, primary admin control.
"Lazy" Setup Identification: Locate generic RankMath variables (e.g., %term%) that need to be replaced with manual, high-intent text.
Structural Health Check: Audit the Header Tag (H1-H6) hierarchy and provide a plan to fix the HTML structure (e.g., excessive H3 tags used for styling) without changing the visual design.
Conflict Resolution: Identify duplicate content issues between "Categories" and "Pages" and propose a 301 redirect map.
Local SEO Capability Test: Identify 5 high-quality, local Australian backlink opportunities (not directory spam) and provide a strategy for acquiring them.
Ongoing Role: Monthly Technical Maintenance
Upon successful completion of the audit, we intend to transition into a regular monthly arrangement.
Budget Range for Ongoing Support: $200 AUD - $600 AUD per month (depending on hours/scope).
Ongoing Responsibilities:
Technical Fixes: Executing the cleanup plan developed during the audit.
Continuous Monitoring: Ensuring 100% site uptime, security, and speed via our SiteGround environment.
Expansion: Management of technical infrastructure and high-quality local link-building.
