Project Description
I am seeking an experienced civil rights attorney to assist with post-filing support for a habeas corpus petition related to a 25-year sentence imposed in 1983. The petition has already been drafted and reviewed by a legal professional. I will handle the physical filing myself at the county clerk's office.
I need legal assistance with:
- Reviewing any responses or objections from the state after filing.
- Representing me in court if necessary.
- Managing any potential appeals from the state.
- Assisting with a subsequent Section 1983 lawsuit for damages once judgment is obtained on the habeas corpus.
Compensation:
I am offering between $750 and $1500 upfront for the right candidate. Alternatively, I am open to a contingency-based arrangement where the attorney receives a percentage of the settlement from the 1983 lawsuit, but no additional payment upfront in that case.
