Salon Interior Layout & Concept Design
Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced interior designer/space planner to develop a functional, modern, and minimalistic salon design for a space measuring approximately 73m², based on the provided floor plan/drawing.
The primary objective is to maximise the number of salon stations/chairs within the space while still maintaining comfortable circulation, functionality, and an aesthetically pleasing customer experience.
The design should create a clean, contemporary, and efficient salon environment with optimal use of all available floor space, including the centre of the room.
Reference/inspiration images of the desired design style are attached and should guide the overall aesthetic direction.
Scope of Work
1. Salon Space Planning & Layout Design
Prepare a detailed salon layout proposal based on the supplied drawing.
The layout should include:
Hair Stations
• Maximum practical number of hair stations/chairs
• Hair stations may be arranged:
• Along walls
• Back-to-back in the middle of the room
• Efficient spacing and circulation must still be maintained
Required Functional Areas
The design must include:
• 2 washing stations
• 2 pedicure/feet washing stations
• 1 nail station
• Remaining stations dedicated to hair services
Space Utilisation
Special attention should be given to:
• Efficient use of the central floor area
• Comfortable client and staff circulation
• Functional workflow between stations
• Storage integration where possible
2. Interior Design Concept
Develop a cohesive salon interior concept including:
• General design style/theme
• Colour and material recommendations
• Lighting approach
• Mirror placement
• Feature walls or focal areas (if applicable)
The design direction should be:
• Minimalistic
• Modern
• Clean and elegant
• Functional
• Professional
• Space-efficient
The space should feel visually uncluttered while still being highly practical and welcoming.
3. Furniture & Material Schedule
Provide a procurement/design catalogue listing recommended items and materials required for implementation.
This should include, where applicable:
Salon Equipment & Furniture
• Styling chairs
• Mirrors
• Washing basins/chairs
• Pedicure chairs/stations
• Nail station furniture
• Reception counter (if feasible)
• Waiting seating
Joinery & Storage
• Shelving
• Product display areas
• Cabinets/storage units
• Towel/storage solutions
Finishes & Materials
• Flooring recommendations
• Wall finishes
• Ceiling concepts
• Lighting fixtures
• Countertop materials
The catalogue should ideally include:
• Item descriptions
• Suggested dimensions
• Material/type recommendations
• Quantities where possible
Deliverables
The freelancer should provide:
1. Space planning/layout options

4. Basic 3D views/renders (preferred)

• The middle section of the room should also be fully utilised
• Hair stations may be arranged back-to-back to improve efficiency
