Project Description
I have several high-detail firearm scans and reference photos that need to be transformed into clean, game-ready meshes. Your task is to rebuild each model in Maya, staying strictly under 15 K triangles while preserving every key contour from the references.
The end result must be a quad-based low-poly mesh that drops straight into a real-time pipeline: clean edge flow, tight silhouette, and UVs that will bake without fuss. I will provide the scan data, orthographic images, and any call-outs for tricky areas; you return a model that matches those sources pixel-for-pixel.
Please tell me about your experience retopologizing hard-surface weapons, especially projects where accuracy to photographic or scan reference was critical. Links to finished in-engine shots or wireframe renders are ideal.
Deliverables per asset
• Clean, quad-based low-poly mesh (≤ 15 K tris)
• UVs laid out for efficient texture use
• Alignment checked against my scan/reference set
• Exported in both FBX and OBJ formats
If your portfolio shows you can meet these standards in Maya, I’m ready to start right away and move through multiple weapons in sequence.
