Project Description
I run a full-stack web application—frontend, backend, and a managed database—and the monthly hosting bill has grown beyond what makes sense for the project’s current size. I need a specialist who can analyse my existing setup, recommend a more affordable cloud environment, and then carry out the migration with minimal disruption to users.
Here is what I have today:
• A responsive frontend served over HTTPS
• An API-driven backend with several background jobs
• A relational database that must retain all data and performance characteristics after the move
You are free to compare AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or any other reputable provider if it will lower the ongoing bill without sacrificing reliability or scalability. Feel free to suggest alternative architectures (containerisation, serverless, managed databases, etc.) if they help keep costs down.
Deliverables I expect:
• A brief cost-comparison and architecture proposal for the target cloud
• A migration plan with timeline, rollback steps, and downtime estimate
• Complete infrastructure set-up (IaC preferred—Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Data and application migration, followed by smoke tests to confirm everything works
• A short hand-off document so I can operate the new environment confidently
Acceptance criteria:
1. Application is fully functional on the new cloud with no data loss.
2. Measurable monthly cost reduction is documented.
3. All infrastructure code and access credentials are transferred securely.
