Project Description
I have a commercial building concept that now needs to be turned into a fully developed 3-D model in SketchUp. The brief calls for a highly detailed representation—interior and exterior, right down to furniture, fixtures, and finish selections—so that every space can be visualised and quantified.
Your scope will cover:
• Building the SketchUp file from my architectural drawings (PDF and DWG).
• Populating all rooms with realistic furnishings and fixtures that match the plans and mood boards I will supply.
• Setting up organised layers/tags and clean component naming so the file remains efficient and easy to navigate.
• Generating rendered perspectives that clearly show materiality and spatial flow.
• Extracting accurate quantity take-offs directly from the model and translating them into a clear cost estimate broken down by trade and material.
Accuracy matters here—the cost estimate should correlate with the model, allowing me to update budgets quickly when design tweaks occur. If you regularly pair SketchUp with cost-planning plugins or external spreadsheets, let me know how you prefer to link data; I’m open to your workflow suggestions as long as the final numbers trace back to model quantities.
Deliverables will be the native .skp file, a PDF set of renders, the take-off spreadsheet, and a brief method statement on how quantities were derived. If you’ve completed similar commercial-scale assignments before, please mention them so I can review. Looking forward to collaborating and seeing this concept come alive in 3-D—with figures to match.
