Project Description
I’m planning a full-scale social networking website and I need a developer who can take it from concept to launch.
Core scope
The heart of the platform is a rich User Profile module. Each member must be able to:
• Customise their profile (avatar, cover image, bio, colour theme, etc.)
• Follow or befriend other members, with the usual request / accept / remove flows
• Upload and share photos and videos directly from web and mobile browsers, with basic editing (crop, rotate) and privacy controls
Everything needs to sit on a secure, responsive frontend that works smoothly on desktop and mobile. I’m happy to discuss your preferred stack—React, Vue, Next.js, Laravel, Django, Node, Ruby on Rails, or another modern framework—as long as performance, scalability, and clean code are front and centre.
Project phases
1. Architecture & database schema for users, media assets, and relationships
2. UI/UX mock-ups and approval
3. Agile sprints to build, test, and refine the profile features
4. Final deployment on my cloud host (AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean—your recommendation welcome)
Acceptance criteria
• All three profile functions work end-to-end without critical bugs
• Cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
• Basic security hardening (OWASP-top-10 checks, HTTPS, input sanitation)
• Clear documentation and hand-off so another developer can step in if needed
