Project Description
I’m preparing a multi-volume series that teaches practical boxing and self-defense, and I want engaging interior illustrations that clearly demonstrate boxing techniques right beside the instructional text. Every drawing should help readers visualise stance, footwork, punches, combinations, defensive moves and drills exactly as they’re being described on the page.
Scope
• Create a consistent set of black-and-white or limited-colour illustrations sized for a 6" × 9" trim (final format delivered as high-resolution PNG or TIFF plus layered source files).
• Each illustration must be clear enough to stand alone without captions, yet simple enough not to distract from the surrounding paragraphs.
• Expect several dozen images across the series; we’ll start with a smaller batch so I can confirm the look and accuracy before you proceed with the remainder.
Workflow
1. You receive page excerpts with my notes on the exact technique to depict.
2. You send back quick pencils or rough vectors for approval.
3. Once approved, you ink/finish and supply finals in print and web resolutions.
Accuracy matters: I’ve boxed for years and coach beginners, so the shoulder angles, guard height and foot placement must be correct. Feel free to reference video freeze-frames or ask questions if a motion isn’t clear.
Timeline & revisions: Initial roughs for the first five images within a week, two minor revision rounds per image afterward. We’ll set milestones per completed batch.
If you’ve illustrated martial arts, sports manuals or anatomy studies before, please include those samples when you bid—clean line work and an eye for movement are what I’m after.
