Project Description
I’m at an intermediate stage with both Global Mapper and QGIS and now want to master LiDAR-based 3-D mapping workflows through a series of live video calls. My priority is to handle point-cloud data confidently—bringing it in, pushing it out, viewing it in full 3-D, and extracting meaningful analysis.
During our sessions I’d like to:
• Refine data import and export techniques for LAS/LAZ, DEM and vector layers, ensuring clean round-tripping between the two programs.
• Build convincing 3-D visualisations in each platform, including fly-throughs and elevation-tinted models.
• Run practical analyses—classification, terrain models, volumetrics, profile extractions—and package the results for clients.
I learn best by sharing screens and working through real datasets, so every call should be interactive: you demo a workflow, then watch me repeat it until it sticks. After each meeting I’ll need concise notes or a short recap video so I can revisit the steps on my own time.
Acceptance criteria for the engagement: by the final session I can independently import a raw point cloud into Global Mapper and QGIS, produce a publish-ready 3-D scene, run at least two core analyses, and export the outputs in formats of my choosing.
If this teaching style and toolset align with your expertise, let’s set up a first call and map out the syllabus together.
