Project Description
I’m building a Python-based web application whose core job is to streamline order management while exposing clean, well-documented APIs. The main stack is Django for the web layer, but I also want to leverage both Django Rest Framework (for the bulk of the REST endpoints) and a lightweight FastAPI micro-service where low-latency calls are critical.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Set up a fresh Django project (latest LTS) with models that cover orders, items, customers, and basic inventory counts.
• Expose CRUD and filtered list endpoints through Django Rest Framework, secured with token or session auth.
• Spin up a separate FastAPI service—running side-by-side or in a Docker container—that handles a performance-sensitive subset of endpoints (think bulk status updates or webhook fan-out).
• Clean API documentation via OpenAPI / Swagger for both DRF and FastAPI layers.
• Unit tests that prove each endpoint works and returns the expected schema.
• Clear README explaining local setup, environment variables, migration steps, and how the two API layers communicate.
Acceptance criteria
– All endpoints return JSON and strictly follow the documented schema.
– Passing test suite (pytest) with ≥90 % coverage.
– Docker Compose file starts the entire stack with one command.
– Code formatted with black and isort; flake8 shows zero critical errors.
