seeking an experienced qualitative researcher/medical research writer to assist with a rapid-turnaround publication project intended for submission to journals such as Cureus, Annals of Medicine & Surgery, or similar rapid-review medical journals.
Working Title: “The Perfect Portfolio? A Thematic Analysis of Portfolio Pressure and Burnout Discourse Among UK Core Surgical Training Applicants on X”
Project Overview: The study aims to explore how UK surgical trainees and Core Surgical Training (CST) applicants discuss:
portfolio pressure,
burnout,
competition anxiety,
work-life balance,
and wider surgical training culture on X (Twitter).
I am looking for someone who can assist with the project from an early stage through to a submission-ready manuscript.
Scope of Work: The ideal freelancer would:
identify and collect relevant publicly available X/Twitter posts,
develop a clear search strategy and inclusion/exclusion criteria,
conduct Braun & Clarke thematic analysis,
develop coding frameworks and themes/subthemes,
maintain an audit trail (Excel/NVivo/Atlas.ti),
assist with literature review integration,
draft Results and Discussion sections,
and help produce a concise publication-ready manuscript.
The aim is to create a methodologically sound but efficient qualitative paper suitable for rapid publication.

Familiarity with publication standards for medical journals
