Project Description
I’m developing a ceramic cake stand that should feel as though it walked straight out of an ancient world—specifically, an aesthetic I’m calling “San Marino” style. Picture a clean, classical silhouette but with bold, embossed geometric patterns running around the rim and base. I’m drawn to the crisp rhythm of Greek-inspired geometry, yet I want the motifs interpreted through this San Marino lens rather than copied verbatim from historical references.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Concept illustrations that capture the overall form of the stand—plate, pedestal, and the transition between them.
• A repeatable geometric pattern I can have embossed into the clay before firing. The pattern must read clearly at table-top viewing distance and retain detail after glazing.
• Production-ready drawings or a 3D file (STEP, IGES, or STL are all fine) with precise dimensions so a ceramist or mold maker can translate the design directly into plaster molds.
I’d like to see at least two pattern variations, both keeping the same underlying “San Marino” vibe but exploring scale or rhythm. Surface depth, line thickness, and relief height should be specified so the embossing doesn’t weaken the structure.
Acceptance criteria
1. Final stand diameter 28 cm, height 12 cm (±2 mm).
2. Pattern tiles seamlessly around the circumference with no visible joins.
3. CAD file opens cleanly in Fusion 360.
4. A keyed PDF drawing set showing front, side, sectional, and top views at 1:1 scale.
If you have experience translating ornamental motifs onto functional ceramics and can balance aesthetics with manufacturability, I’d love to review your proposal and any relevant portfolio pieces.
