Project Description
I need an experienced Unreal Engine programmer – or a small team – to bring a highly realistic truck simulator to life. My goal is a polished, performant experience that feels authentic in both handling and atmosphere, so every coding and design decision must serve realism.
Scope of work
• Build and optimise the entire Unreal project, keeping stable FPS on mid-range hardware without sacrificing visual fidelity.
• Code the truck’s driving logic in C++ / Blueprints, blending physics-based suspension, weight transfer, braking and steering with responsive input and believable feedback.
• Create an internal tool (or clear workflow) that lets designers assemble terrain, props and interactive elements quickly, covering everything from urban streets to challenging rural roads.
• Work side-by-side with me on the technical roadmap: project structure, performance budgets, version control conventions, plug-in choices and long-term maintenance.
Acceptance criteria
1. A playable demo scene showcasing at least two distinct environments and one fully interactable truck.
2. Consistent 60 fps on the target PC spec I will provide, with profiling data to back it up.
3. Clear, commented source plus a short read-me outlining build steps and any third-party dependencies.
If you’ve shipped a commercial Unreal title or simulation, especially with vehicle physics or heavy optimisation, I'd love to see it. Let’s create a simulator that both enthusiasts and professionals will respect.
