FORMWORK DESIGN CALCULATIONS
A. Lift Stations (80 Units)
Design of vertical wall formwork system only
Consideration of:
o Wall height (~5.5 m as per drawings)
o 300 mm wall thickness
o Waterproof structure requirements
Calculation of:
o Lateral concrete pressure (ACI 347 based)
o Tie rod spacing (15 mm tie rods, SWL = 60 kN)
o Waler (S150 aluminium beam) spacing
o Soldier (150×200 mm) spacing
o Plywood (18 mm) design check
Stability checks for:
o Formwork system under fresh concrete load
o Construction stage loading
B. Circulating Water Pump Structures (2x1 & 3x1 Blocks)
Design of:
o Vertical wall formwork
o Slab formwork support system (including jack supports)
Load considerations:
o Wet concrete load
o Construction live loads
o Equipment loads (if applicable from drawings)
Design checks:
o Slab support spacing (jack supports)
o Beam (S150) capacity
o Plywood adequacy
o Deflection control (L/360)
