Project Description
I need a mechanical designer to help me take a new automotive component from a rough idea to a clear, convincing concept. I’m still at the very first phase of product development, so the focus is on exploring design directions, solving basic packaging and kinematic challenges, and producing visuals that let the rest of the team understand how the part will work inside the vehicle.
Here’s what I expect at this stage:
• 2–3 concept variants modeled in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Simple exploded views or renders that communicate function and assembly
• A short design brief explaining material assumptions, key dimensions, and the reasoning behind each concept
The output doesn’t need full-blown FEA or production-level tolerancing yet; we’ll tackle detailed design and validation in later phases. What matters now is creativity, sound mechanical logic, and files we can share quickly with engineers and stakeholders.
If you enjoy brainstorming mechanical solutions for automotive applications and can turn ideas into clear CAD concepts fast, I’d like to work with you on this first round.
