Electrical Engineering AutoCAD Home Automation Lighting Lighting Design
My 80 m² apartment is ready for a fresh, well-thought-out lighting concept that combines day-to-day functionality with a refined sense of atmosphere and visual coherence from room to room. The scope covers the living room, kitchen and bedrooms, and I’m particularly interested in a balanced mix of ceiling lights, wall-mounted fixtures, recessed lights, indirect lighting, LED strips and accent spotlights where appropriate. The design should not only provide sufficient practical illumination, but also highlight the aesthetic quality of the space, create a pleasant ambience, and offer different lighting combinations for daily living, relaxing, dining, cooking, reading and evening/night scenarios. The overall lighting control system will be based on DALI. In addition to using fixtures with suitable standard colour temperatures for everyday functional lighting, I would also like to introduce subtle colour variation to create small moments of surprise. For example, selected LED strips or accent spotlights could use different colours according to time of day, scene setting, season, or specific living scenarios. However, the use of colour should remain tasteful and restrained. I do not want the apartment to feel like a bar, nightclub or dance floor. The main atmosphere should still be warm, comfortable and home-like, with a refined sense of technology and smart living. I have included the PDF floor plan in the project documents for your review. The documentation is currently in Chinese, but after the designer is selected, communication can mainly be conducted in English. I will also supply photos of the existing wiring points where necessary. From the floor plan and supporting information, I need: • A scaled lighting layout showing exact fixture locations and switching/control circuits for every room • A concise fixture schedule listing recommended models, or suitable specifications, including lumen output, colour temperature, colour-changing capability where relevant, beam angle, dimming method, DALI compatibility and installation notes • Basic load calculations and, where useful, simple lighting-level justification. Dialux/Relux or similar simulations are welcome, but not strictly required • Clear recommendations for different lighting scenes, colour accents and lighting combinations in each area • One revision round so we can fine-tune fixture placement, lighting scenes, colour effects or fixture selection after I review the first draft The electrical installation and smart home implementation will be handled by myself. I plan to build the system around Loxone, with DALI as the main lighting control layer, so I am especially focused on the lighting design itself and how the lighting can interact with other systems such as air conditioning, curtains/blinds, occupancy sensors, daylight sensors and other smart home devices. Rather than relying on too many wall switch panels in each room, I would prefer a more seamless and intuitive smart interaction concept. The design should consider presence-based control, time-of-day scenes, daylight compensation, curtain/blind coordination, air-conditioning interaction, seasonal lighting moods and other sensor-driven automations, so that the lighting feels natural and responsive without requiring constant manual operation. File formats can be PDF for presentation and DWG/DXF for the layout, so my electrician can work directly from the drawings. If any fixtures require special dimmers, LED drivers, DALI DT6/DT8 control, RGB/RGBW drivers, 0-10V/relay control, or other specific control interfaces, please flag them clearly. Once these items are delivered and coordinated, I’ll release final approval. I look forward to seeing a lighting concept that is practical, atmospheric, visually pleasing, warm and home-like, yet subtly enhanced by smart colour effects and well integrated with a Loxone- and DALI-based smart home system.
