Project Description
I am in the final stretch of my master’s degree in political science and my dissertation zeroes in on classical political thought. To strengthen the research foundation before I begin formal writing, I need thorough, well-organised research work focused on primary authors and the most authoritative contemporary analyses of their ideas.
My study concentrates on classical theorists—Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, and their immediate interlocutors—examining how their concepts of virtue, statecraft, and citizenship still inform present-day debates. I have narrowed the topic and arguments; what I lack is a curated body of sources, critical summaries, and a clear mapping of scholarly conversations that will let me write with confidence and academic rigour.
Deliverables
• An annotated bibliography of at least 25 peer-reviewed sources, divided into primary texts and secondary scholarship
• A literature review outline highlighting dominant themes, gaps, and contrasting interpretations within classical political thought
• Concise analytical notes (300–400 words each) on the key arguments of major authors, linked back to my research question
• Correct Chicago or APA citations for every entry, ready for direct insertion into the thesis
• A brief memo recommending potential avenues for further archival or digital research
Acceptance criteria
• All sources must be published in reputable academic presses or journals and be accessible online or through standard university databases
• Annotations clearly state the thesis, methodology, and relevance of each work
• No AI-generated summaries; please rely on your own critical reading and include page references for direct quotes
