Project Description
I’m preparing to build a culvert whose main job is to improve site drainage and I need a civil designer who can turn my preliminary idea into a complete, build-ready package. At minimum the work will cover a solid hydraulic and structural design; if you can also generate a reliable cost estimate, even better—I’m open to bundling both in one engagement.
The final drawing set should be easy for a contractor to follow. That means clear structural details, practical material call-outs and a site layout that shows how the culvert ties into the existing drainage network. I generally work in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, so staying within that ecosystem keeps things smooth, but I’ll accept any standard format that converts cleanly.
Deliverables
• Fully annotated culvert drawings in DWG (and PDF for quick review)
• Basic hydraulic calculations that justify the chosen sizing
• Design notes outlining material specifications and construction sequence
• (Optional) Itemised cost estimate with quantities and current-market unit rates
Acceptance criteria
• Culvert capacity meets local rainfall-intensity data and relevant codes
• Drawings align dimensionally and include all call-outs needed for permits
• Files open without errors in the stated formats
Send over a brief note on your experience with drainage structures and any similar drawings or reports you have produced. Once I review your approach, we can set milestones and kick off right away.
