I need a small yet precise tweak to my Shopify checkout: a single text field where customers can enter their Tax Identification Number. The field must sit right before the payment options and behave conditionally—mandatory and visible only when “Italy” is the chosen country, completely hidden (and non-blocking) for “Germany” or “Austria.”
The value has to be saved with the order so I can find it later in the admin and pass it through to my invoicing app. Please implement it in the cleanest way for my current theme, keeping future theme or Shopify updates in mind.
Once done, I expect a quick walkthrough of the code or settings you touched so I can maintain it going forward.
